Is it time to talk about starting up again? I'm anxious to get started on a new tune. I know we talked about assessing the Praise Exchange in January. It's January!!

Here's my opinion:
Let's keep going! I know things slowed down in December, but I think that's just because we all were working so hard on Christmas tunes, and wrapping gifts, and planning parties, and practicing for cantatas, and carolling.......
But it probably mostly had to do with that Christmas folder we were filling full of good music. I know my Christmas tune, although it was just one, took a great deal of time and energy.

So, Shadoes, don't be discouraged. You've got a lot of eager folks here, ready for a new tune. Plus, now Adrian and Susan have recording capabilities!! And Kathy! And I'm sure we may be able to cajole others, too.

Yes I want to hear Jim play a tune on that dulcimer. Nothing goes a mile a minute all the time.

I will see about getting up a new tune within the next couple of weeks. We are nearing the end of a huge project at work. And I am the one responsible for writing the documentation/training manual then training 50 detectives on how to use the new system.

But I will get a new tune up.

Shadoes, if you get bogged down in work (or life) ... could you 'appoint' an assistant or take volunteers to help with TPE? Most of us could help with the posting of a song pdf and midi -- just not the actual clips (or at least I don't know how to do that).

Time won't allow much posting from me for a while, but I hate to see TPE grow stagnant. It's really been fun!

How about this. If you have a song you feel would be good for players of all levels. Put it into PDF form(or finale is you have that) and mail it to me. Or even post it on the TPE ftp and I can pull it from there. Typically we put up a PDF of the notes and a mp3 file of the midi melody. If the song in finale format i can generate the mp3. Or if you have the midi post that and the pdf and I can convert the midi to mp3. That way if anyone has a song they would like to see send them at me. This would also help keeps things moving as we could build up an actual backlog of waiting songs.

the main time drain is actually getting the song ready to post. Posting clips and such doesn;t take much time at all realitivly speaking.

Actually, in starting this new job, I have recording capabilities as well. I'm buddies with the sound tech guy, so he wouldn't mind recording me for a minute or two.

Count me in. flute2

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I am hoping to get time to add to this project too. I enjoy listening to everyone's offerings.

Kathy :)
