It was exactly one year ago today that the first tune was posted and folks started recording.

Happy Birthday

It's been a lot of fun, and I've learned a LOT.

Me too. Some of the things I've left I sort of cringe at now. Some of my clips are mediocre. Some I still like. It's probably been most helpful for folks (like me) who are relative newcomers to the whistle, as far as improving playing ability.

As I think about the Praise Exchange, it occurs to me that some things recorded here, and some who play here, are genuinely professional. Along with leaving something beautiful to listen to, they help those of us who are aspiring amateurs see what can be done with time, experience, and talent. Some play a simple, heartfelt, rendition and also help us see what can be done. And almost all of us who have recorded here have done something that is less than stellar on some scale of musical perfection -- and people here have loved us, and been kind and supportive and accepting anyway. This is the value and spirit of TPE.

(It's also plain fun that individuals in Greece, England, Virginia, Ohio, Kansas, Texas, Colorado, California, Hawaii, etc. (I'm leaving out lots of places), can toot away from one place, and someone thousands of miles away can listen to them, respond to them, and play something in return.)

I really hope everyone (and more) will keep playing and posting.

Happy birthday to us!!!!

It's fun to go through the songs from 1 to 17 to see how we've changed as whistlers and recording producers.
