Shan's been busy! She records this for us:

And says:

Quote:
Here's my version of Come Ye Sinners, played on my Sweetone D. I'm starting with the tunes Michael Card does on Starkindler because I've heard them so often. Smile

*sigh* I guess I really can't put off my ironing any longer. Back to work!

Blackhawk, finally got a chance to listen to your piece .... woohoo! That's nice. Love that Bb Humphrey.

Shan, that is some fine whistling. Coming from flute to the whistle, you sure did adapt quickly to whistle ornaments. BTW, a flute clip or so will work, too -- if you feel so inclined.

.... ironing? :-k What is this strange labor of which you write? ;)

Shan, nice work! Don't you just love the sound of a Sweetone? I do, and you did a great job on this.

Judy, thanks for the kind words! Actually it's a Bnat. I love both keys but the Bnat fits better in my fanny pack for traveling. I hope to get to play it in St Anne's church in Jerusalem next February and redeem the mistake I made last November with the Gen Bb.

Shan, I really enjoyed listening to your clip. We also sneaked a listen to Be Thou My Vision, which was also very nice.

Many thanks, everyone! You are all so encouraging. I really enjoyed playing this one.

Yes, I love my Sweetone, Blackhawk-- or at least my Sweetone D. My Sweetone C doesn't give me much love, so I'm on the hunt for a better sounding C whistle.

Judy-- I LOVE whistle ornaments! I wish I could figure out how to fit them in when there are more notes in a song. Working on it! It took me a little bit to wrap my brain around the character differences between flute and whistle, and to think about playing the whistle as an instrument in it's own right as opposed to as just a "flute knock-off". I think you have to be a REALLY good musician to make the flute sound really good, whereas you can be more average and still sound pretty good on the whistle, KWIM?
