Well, time for a new song. This time, let's go with At Calvary. Syncopated rhythms, key of D. See what you can do with it. Have fun!

Know what I'm thinkin'?

No, not Arby's. ;)

Pull out the church hymnal, play four verses worth of chords on the guitar, play only the melody over it on the first verse, and add one new harmony part on each successive verse.

Anyway, it's a great old tune. I can't wait to see what y'all do with it. 8)

Yikes! That's begging for some interpretation. I'm looking forward to hearing all the offerings on this one.

Btw, I'm not ignoring this song. It's just that every time I think I'm about ready to post I realize I'm not playing it as written, but using the same timing for what is supposed to be the syncopated part. So, I expect it'll be a few months, like many other of the songs we have done, that I'll actually post a version of this one. I do like it. I used to sing it when I was a kid in my dad's church.

Enjoy!

=D> Really nice recording. The mountain dulcimer surely lends itself well to the tune!

I keep forgetting to post about this. I listened to it but then some things came up before I could comment. Good job, Ren! Lovely version.

Your style of dulcimering is wonderful. This recording reminds me so much of the Smoky Mountain Hymns type of albums.
