This one has been around pretty much forever. The tune is a folk melody from India. Attached are the score and audio file. An accompaniment track, created by Ren Tin 10, will be posted later. :)

At long last, a new tune! 8)

Of course, I won't use my own accompaniment track. I'll probably re-do it from scratch. ;)

Ok now ... tell me that you weren't playing all of those instruments at one time!!!

I wouldn't put it past you ...

I liked it!

Wow, that's cool. Is that a true banjo or is it a dulcijo?

All but the banjo.

It's a mandolin banjo.

Me and the Alvarez and a Clarke Original in C ... I don't even really know if these are the right words! Just what I remembered - singing was a last minute decision.

Wow .... the two recordings are so completely different ... distinctive to each artist.

Love the banjolin part you added, Aaron.

Voice and whistle -- great combo, Jim!

Thank you... I didn't really get it together as well as I might have hoped.

BTW, the banjolin is a slightly different instrument than what I'm using. The banjolin proper is a four stringed instrument tuned to play the violin part in a banjo orchestra.

Whereas the mandolin-banjo is an eight stringed instrument like a mandolin. Some banjolins are fretted and some are not, but all mandolin-banjos are fretted.

The ukulele banjo is another instrument that looks like a banjolin, but it is considerably smaller, and it is tuned very differently.

They are all great instruments. I'm glad Connie mentioned the Dulcijo. I was unfamiliar with it, so I looked it up, and watched a YouTube video of it.

Is it just me who hears shades of Kris Kristofferson's voice in jrc's voice? :-k

Thanks for the kind words fellas.

Jim - Blues/Gospel is where I feel most at home. I'm often put in a position where I have to do some other things sometimes, but it's certainly where my heart is. I've got an original song in the vein I'm gonna post before long - it's based on a verse in I Peter.

Larry - The quickest I've ever seen a room clear was at a Kristofferson concert. We opened, and it was at the peak of his movie days - everybody came to see the 'star'; I guess they had never heard a Kris record before. About 1500 people left within about 30 minutes :D . I like Kris though, thanks very much for the comment, please don't misunderstand. He's got a very unique voice, and has written some amazing songs.

I've been a fan of Kris's since his first album way back in my freshman year of college.
I agree with Jim Wright, Southern Gospel was meant for a voice like yours. I can just picture you at a "Gaither Homecoming" show!

Jim Wright, your JudyC whistle is so sweet. I like your whistling. I'm glad you came out of posting retirement. I heard a lot of personality coming out this time. You been practicin'!

jrc Jim, I would buy a CD with that song on it. Thanks for being so generous with your gifts! Nice stuff. I, too, enjoy that style.

Here's a mountain dulcimer version from me.

While I was at it, I also contributed a version of Eleanor Plunkett (see Music forum).
