Here are the lyrics:

Come, Christians, join to sing
Alleluia! Amen!
Loud praise to Christ our King;
Alleluia! Amen!
Let all, with heart and voice,
Before His throne rejoice;
Praise is His gracious choice.
Alleluia! Amen!

Come, lift your hearts on high,
Alleluia! Amen!
Let praises fill the sky;
Alleluia! Amen!
He is our Guide and Friend;
To us He’ll condescend;
His love shall never end.
Alleluia! Amen!

Praise yet our Christ again,
Alleluia! Amen!
Life shall not end the strain;
Alleluia! Amen!
On heaven’s blissful shore,
His goodness we’ll adore,
Singing forevermore,
“Alleluia! Amen!”

Pay attention ... now Judy ... Key is changed to G .... all notes down one .... " C " is natural. :wave:

=D> As Jim mentioned, you sure learned it well, Aaron. I think the ocarina sounded beautiful. Well done, brother.
I have a question about ocarinas. What is their volume like compared to say a D whistle?

They can vary, with some being very soft and others very loud, but on average, I think that the volume on a soprano ocarina would be about the same as that on a D whistle. Due to the way an ocarina functions, without overtones, you can play more loudly or more softly without the likelihood of jumping octaves.

The ocarina was great! =D>

It's either an epiphany, or maybe it's because it won't be long until they start writing performance evaluations at work... :-k

...but two of my big minuses have been that I "can be hard to work with" and I "tend to have a go-it-alone attitude".

But anyway, since I have a reputation to shake off, I hope to no longer make any solo contributions to the Praise Exchange.

Anyone willing to collaborate with me on this one? :idea:

You are spoiling Aaron with all of the "Sirs" .... be lucky if he even talks to me any more! :laughing:

I learned this hymn as "Come Ye Children of the Lord" http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/c/y/cycolord.htm
It has different words and a slightly different rhythm. I played this through with the old melody and then the new (for me). This is also played on a quena -- my first recording with one. I'm not exactly happy with it, but it will have to do.

All you'd need the would be a Don Ho impersonator and you could be a quartet! :lol: Very nice job, Keith. =D>

Larry, we have a DonHen who's been in Hawaii ... would that work? All you need to do is talk him into posting the clip .... 8)

Finally got a chance to listen to all three clips .... =D>

Love the sound of the ocarina, Aaron ....

Don't understand how the quena even works -- glad you do, Keith ...

Very neat version on the Tommy Bb, Jim. Didn't know this one either, but listened to yours enough that I may give it a go in a day or so.

Not many are recording anything these days. I sure do appreciate you all that do! :thumbsup:

Great job all. I really need to get back to recording. Time is not my friend these days. Well and two bum hands do not help. I should find out today if I actually broke a couple bones in my right hand. Even if I had time right now I cannot really use my pinky on my right hand at the moment. hehe with the brace on the left hand I cannot hold my guitar... okay now I have depressed myself. Hmm wonder if I could play my native american flute? fewer holes :) Might have to give that a go.

Shadoes, you need a dulcimer. It lays flat on your lap or a table so no need to hold it with the left hand and picking shouldn't require much from the pinky on the right ...... 8)

I have thought about a dulcimer for a bit actually. turns out I seem to have actually broken my 4th and 5th metacarpel..the bones that run from the knuckle to the wrist on my ring and pinky fingers on my right hand. nice heh.. so 4 more weeks in my left hand brace... 6 weeks now in a right hand brace...and oddly enough both happened in events not stage combat. Although the left hand one did involve carrying gear to the car for a show :)
