Welcome to The Praise Exchange!

Here is where we as praise whistlers can post our clips of the various songs I will put up. :)

But first lets set some guidelines. Most of this has already been discussed in the Main forum thread on the topic but it bears repeating here.

1) Each song will be up for two weeks. Or should I say a new song will be posted approximately every two weeks. It is my intention to leave the old songs up as long as we have space :) I will post the sheetmusic for the melody and a midi or mp3 of the same. I will then start a new thread in the TPE Forum for each new song.

2) Be courteous and encouraging. Not everyone's whistling style will be to your liking. Follow the old rule if you can't say something nice (or in a nice way) don't say anything at all. Our aim here is to encourage the sharing of styles and interpretations of the songs posted.

3) Play the songs how you like. If you want to add synth back beats, loops etc. Do your thang :) If you want to put up just the whistle track.. that's awesome too. There is no right or wrong. Music is a wonderful medium that is open to many different views. By learning to appreciate well done styles outside of our preferred style we ALL become stronger.

4) Do NOT EVER... let me repeat that DO NOT EVER feel like you should not post a clip or that your clip is not good enough. There are all levels of playing here and I hope to see ALL levels of playing participating in TPE (woot! three letter acronym!)

Please record and post. We all want to hear what you have to say on the whistle. And by being constructive and encouraging we can hopefully make us all better players. So when you wonder if you your clip is good enough to post. See the first sentence in rule number 4 :)

5) To post your files please reference this thread
http://praisewhistlers.org/pwboard/viewtopic.php?t=72
however the login and password we will use for TPE is
login - pwatunes
password - mystyle

6) FILE NAMING When you post your files please post with the following format or something like it. The reason for this is so that we do not erase anyone's file :)

use songtitle_screenname
so for example I would place my file as amazinggrace_shadoes.mp3
That way when others posted their Amazing Grace files it would not overwrite mine or anyone elses as the file names would be unique :)

7) After you upload your file please PM that you did giving me the file name you uploaded. I will then add it to the relevant thread for discussion.

8) That's all for now but there is probably more we need that I am forgetting.

Cool! I'm excited. My wife got a mike for our computer and she thinks she can figure out how it's all supposed to work, recording and sending clips, etc. I hope she gets it all figured out so I can post, but in any case I'll be listening and learning.

This is great. I really like to record myself but I never think I'm good enough to post it anywhere. I don't really understand what I should do with the above login details but I'll see.... I just recorded a whistle tune..

Ooh, Zoukie! Please post it! We'd love to hear your stuff. Did you record your whistle onto your computer? If so, here's the next step:

If your recording is on something else, like a cassette recorder or minidisc player, go here:

Just send Shadoes or me a private message when you get your song in the right folder, and we'll get it posted in the right place.

Welcome to the fun! :D
