And now for something completely different....

This is the first outing of the song, recorded live - vocals and instruments are still trying to 'find their way' so to speak;

Do I detect a bit of Pink Floyd leanings? 8)

Doesn't exactly fit "nice", but I like it! :thumbsup:

Sorry it took me this long to listen & post.

Have to add a mini-rant, not directed at you, jrc, but all of us. I hate to see anything go without comment this long. If the effort is taken to post on PWA, an effort should be made to comment/respond -- good, bad or indifferent. We can clearly see that a thread has been opened 'x' times. An OP has to wonder what about the posting is unworthy of comment. This might not be the right place for this, but I felt like it needed said.

In my case, I had viewed the post but not yet downloaded the file, due to bandwidth considerations, so I didn't have anything to say.

Often I'll see the post and come back later to listen. Computer is sometimes and issue, time, or location might influence whether or not I listen or comment on a recording. Can't always get to it immediately, and then sometimes it slips my mind to come back. :oops:

Fellowship with all you guys aside, I can tell you the recordings are probably my favorite part of PWA.

I just found time to listen. I often pop in to see whats up without posting then when I have time I go back and listen. I found it to be a very interesting composition. I liked it though. It is not what I play but then no one else is as bad as I am when it comes to playing.

love it! just makes me wonder about the flavors of music we'll be able to enjoy in heaven.

i love the line in the hymn O Sacred Head - what language can I borrow to thank this dearest friend . . . as if no language can capture the praise He deserves.

No style of music can do it either......love it. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys! Definitely out of the ordinary for me too, but it kinda took on a life of it's own.

The original idea musically was a messianic song called "Adonai El-Shaddai" by Lamb. My daughter says it's a country song. Who knows?

Really liking the freedom with the new pastor at our church. He said take a risk ... so ...

Jim, that one got me reaching for the guitar to drop an E and try it out. Southern rock meets praise. Nice.

Played last Wed to open the service ... sang the verse acapella to get everyone .... 'focused' :mrgreen: ... just the lead vocal fff..

...was quite effective. I recorded it - curious what the mix sounds like, still haven't brought it home.

thanks Connie. I'm liking that drop D tuning. fun to play.
