For the most part I want to stick with songs playable on the D whistle. But I am curious as to how many have whistles in multiple keys? I personally have D C Bb G A for example.

Btw, I'd like to say for the record that the reason I have an Eb is because of Connie's generosity. Thanks, Connie! :)

I am on the short side of keys. I have Bb, C, D, Eb, F, G in high whistles. G and low D in Low whistles. Of course I have quite a few Ds and several Ebs and several Cs. However I only read music for a D whistle.

Good point, yes it was. I guess I have one more than I realized. I bought your set mainly to get the fipple and another C tube. I just figured the rest was gravy. :)

Actually, though, I was referring to a couple of weeks ago when Connie PMed me and said "Would you like a free O'Brien?" And she was as good as her word, sending me a Bb/Eb combo from the goodness of her heart. I just wanted to say thanks publicly.

In the low category I've got D,Eb, F, G (and a DIY C)
Then A,Bb,B,C,D,Eb,E,F,G

With me right now on mainland I have Low G, and A,Bb,C D, Eb, F.

I did buy a cheap microphone (and I do mean the cheapest there was) from the shack place. I'll have to give it a go and see how it turns out.

I'm assuming it's okay to send in clips of the tune in whilstles other than D, right?

I have whistles in (high to low) E, D, C, Bb, A & Low D; flutes in G and D -- none of them played particularly well. :?

Good thing the only requirement is making a joyous noise! :D

Be glad to transpose any arrangement to any key and post it in pdf format.

Finale will do it for me :) but it is a good exercise for my transposition skills that have been rusting for quite some time :) But thank you. Might in the future take you up on that.

I have whistles in every key from low D to D, except for high E and both Eb's. I gotta get a low and high Eb, so I can play with shuttle and fireside pipes.

LOL. Actually, I had to look it up and listen to a clip. Neat sound.

I also found this interesting explanation of the phrase in Hebrew:

Ahava Rabba. That's a Daniel Bingamon whistle. Modal, good for middle eastern music.

Ned, I have a Low Eb that Mack Hoover made special order. He called it a "wind tunnel." I had asked for a Low Eb that I could push some wind through. Nice sounding whistle, but takes lots of air. He can make you one to your specificaions.

I like flats ... songs sure sound nice with the Eb and Bb whistles .. seem to be more alive and flow easier. And ...I like them to flow easy .. for I am a lazy whistler and those big skips give me fits.

I like fast ones as well. My wife has told me .... much more than once .... that some of the songs I play are much faster than anyone could possibly sing ............ and that is true enough ..... but tis their problem .. not mine!

Well, I'm very out of date with all the posts from the last few months but this thread interested me as I had not looked at the whistle keys in the buckets. Of the 13 standard keys I have

High G, F, E, Eb, D, Db, C, B, Bb, A, G, D low.

A few holes to fill in my rack. The high G is a Susato and the holes are too close for my fingers to play properly so I'm not sure if I could count it.

VERY interested in Kristos' Ukranian whistle :?
