Could this be our next three tunes? If so, what order? 8)

Any of these are good. Ed (shadoes) should get first pick when he gets his puter back because a month or so ago he wrote:

I had one hymn in mind that for the life of me I cannot remember what it was now. It was in G instead of D... hmm let me look.. Oh YES.. All Hail The Power of Jesus Name.. in one of my hymnals it is in G with a C# accidental... that was it.

So maybe we can give that a priority when he gets set up again. Until then anything you all want to work on is good for me. :)

The only intentional tweak to my Feadog is the sticky tack. The others were the result of the ramp cracking. My other 2 brass Feadogs are not tweaked at all and my Feadog Pro is not tweaked. The Feadog pro is nice but it requires care in playing.

I am ready for any of the above hymns, Two of them I will need to learn. Rock of Ages I already play.

The first two are very straightforward. "Power in the Blood" may have some accidentals, so it may be more of a challenge.

Do I have to be agreeable, or can I be grumpy and still post the songs?

Wups!! Power In the Blood does indeed have two accidentals in key of D, and one unavoidable accidental in G (on a D whistle). Oh, well. Too bad--I sure like that song. The other two should work fine. Rock of Ages would sound NICE on whistle.

Well .. guess we have the next few settled but how about some up beat ones like

Glory to his name
We bring the sacrifice of praise
I know whom I have believed
Leaning on the everlasting arms
Only trust him

To name a few .. get the fingers loosened up a mite. I also like Rock of Ages .. very nice one.

So does that definitely mean that Rock of Ages is next?

A friend came up with an awesome Rock of Ages variation- I'll try to get a clip recorded. It's in minor. It has an accidental in it. (An accidental is an out-of-key note, like a C# or Bb in the key of C...)

That a quote from earlier :) Be Thou My Vision is up next then Rock Of Ages. And I will look for somethin with a kick for After Rock :)

ugh now I just have to get ALL my software set back up. About a third of the way there I think. Not to mention I am now two songs behind on my recording. Those might have to wait a bit though from other activities. Just have to pick up with the next song.

Rock of Ages would probably make a good "next tune", since we're already discussing it, but let's not abandon "Power" completely. Even though there are two accidentals in the key of G, neither of which are too difficult to half-hole (or for that matter even necessary to half-hole, since the tune still sounds OK without them), the entire tune falls inside the first octave.

actually we were discussing three. Be Thou My Vision , Rock of Ages, and Power in the Blood. Since the general concensous however seems to not be "Be thou my vision" We will go with Rock of Ages next. Either myself or Kitty will get it up soon as we can.

You can win ... I just wanted clarification. But, as varied as this group is, someone is always going to be a tad disappointed. I'll take my turn this time ... :D

.....just don't let it happen again ....

;) Really just kidding ya, Ed

I think it's Rock of Ages. I'm not sure, but I think that's it.

Some folks pushed for Rock of Ages over Be Thou My Vision. I will have to find the music to get it posted as I have not gotten finale reinstalled on my machine as of yet.

Actually Connie has volunteered to write out the music for us, and she'll probably make a sample MP3 of the basic tune as well.

We have another clip of this one, now from Keith. (I still plan on getting to this one myself someday)

http://praisewhistlers.org/exchange/son ... me_khl.mp3

This is played with an O'Brien Eb with copper fipple the first time through, a Kerry Low Eb second time, and the third time back to the O'Brien with a little reverb added.
