These were the only ones I got today. The last one is a picture of what my wife sees each morning when she wakes up. I love my orchids.

NIce ones Ron .......... seems like we are both in the snow now. I didn't expect it .. had to dig my jacket out again but will probably be 80 by the first of the week. We have a lot of summer types of plants that are budding out .... hope they make this cold spell.

I like the orchids too .... beautiful flowers ... do you grow them .. and if so .. in small or large numbers?

Well I got home and revised the size. I raise orchids because I like them. Right now I have about 10 plants. There are usually about half of them blooming. These two are phalenopsis and when they bloom the blooms last about 3 months to 5 months. I have some catleya that have a beautiful bloom but they only last about two weeks. My dendrobiums last about two months.

when you say "last" do you mean the flower last that long or that they bloom for that long. I probably didn't read it right.

How big is the flower on the purple one .. it looks big.

Do you keep them in the house all of the time? Require much light?

Nice hobby ....

Thanks for the pictures Ron. I really like the daffodils in the snow. It suggests to me a message of hope.

The bloom remains for several months. Some of the plants I have had for over 5 years. The purple one is 3 3/4 inches across. The yellow one is about 3 inches. Phalenopsis orchids take about the same care as african violets. No direct sun, temperature between 55 and 80, and water about every week and a half. I have my thermostat set for 71 daytime and 68 nighttime. They bloom better if the temperature drops at night. Several times in my life I wanted to grow orchids and I was told that I couldn't do it because they were too temperamental. Then about 5 years ago a friend said they were not hard to raise. I bought one and soon got the orchid equivalent of WhOA. Most of them are right beside the bed on my wife's side. Each day she is greeted by white yellow and purple blooms, some with stripes, some with spots, and some just plain.
