Post subject:  Morning walk

I got up at four to go for an early walk. I was high up on a forest road and sat down for a rest and played the Kesh Jig while 80 yards away a beautiful buck deer crossed the track without even looking at me. Either he was deaf or likes the sound of WW Bb or something. Anyway it a treat for me. Deer are common in the UK but not here.

Here are some other treats I saw.

Lit with the early morning sun

Again this was beautifully lit by the low sun. I should try this more often. Jim didn't tell me about this.

This is a kind of yarrow

Lots of these around

A tiny thistle

A very pretty grass head.

Autumn leaves already

This aspen shows that some trees already think it is autumn.

Very nice and the reason I didn't tell you about it is because I haven't been up that early in years! :D

Isn't it amazing that God put so much beauty into something that fades so fast?

Were you in Lost Woods Adrian? I hope we can go there next week when I return to Greece. Thanks for the lovely photos. Where is the one of the deer?

Therein lies the main problem with digital compacts - speed of use! If I had had the DSLR OR a film camera with me you would possibly have a picture of a deer to see.

Yes it was Lost Woods.
