I took a little walk in the hills and saw these things.

Cunningham Falls lake in the Catoctin mountains about 2 miles from Camp David

a closer look at the beach

these guys were everywhere

these guys are hard to get close to.

this is the well pump at a house my father in law used to own. I have pumped many a bucket of water at this well.

Image
Down the hill aways there is this old covered bridge

Image
This Rainbow trout was swimming under the bridge with a few of his friends

this is Apples Church built in 1826 and still in use today.

It was a relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

Wonderful pictures! My favorite is the covered bridge- they're a real staple in Indiana, so they make me think of being over there with my family :)

Way to go Ron .... I like the pump best .. i pumped a lot of water as well ... does make you appreciate indoor plumbing!! Never seen a covered bridge except in pictures ... down here we have "wash-out" bridges. They are single lane steel structure with 2"x 12" laid across it and with a flash flood the boards wash away and they replace them ASAP. That old church looks a lot better than some around here!!!
That lake looks a lot like some of our pastures down here ... we still be a mite wet!

Keep them coming!

What a beautiful stone church! Great shots, and great walk I would say. :)

I love the water shots .... no the butterfly .... no, it's the church .... nice pump shot -- pumped many a gallon from a pump myself ...

There's a covered bridge, although not as picturesque, about 7 miles from here. I'll try to get a picture of it sometime soon.

Oh shucks, Ron ... They are all cool!
