Just a brief few words as I don't have much time now.

Les came to visit me yesterday. We had a great time together, going for a walk, talking, playing music and eating good food.

Some may be shocked to discover, as I was, that Les doesn't really play the whistle (as in spending time playing it) but I got out my Chieftain A in the woods and he managed a tune. In the evening Les told me that he didn't play recorder but we ended up playing a duet of O Come O Come Emmanuel. He brought his melodeon, bodhran and banjo/ukelele with him. Unfortunately the melodeon and recorder weren't in tune but Les accompanied me on the bodhran. He is a good teacher and spent some time explaining to one of my friends' grandsons how to play the bodhran.

I have some photos and hope that Adrian will be able to post them after I return to Greece.

Great shot! Ahhhh, that room looks large enough to welcome several more instrumentalists. That would be a nice trip someday!

Who took the photo?

Yes that room is quite large. We could have a session with about 15 musicians judging by the number we have for house groups there, or fewer if they all bring as many instruments as Les!. Let us know when you're coming. Our friends love to have guests.

The house belongs to a married couple from the church we attend in the town. We lived with them for three years when we ran a Christian coffee bar there. Now we stay with them each time we return to England and the husband took the photo.

Susan, what whistle are you playing in the photo?

Les, I love your bodhran. Can you tell me who the maker is?

Lyn, I'm playing a Mollenhauer alto recorder in the picture. I can't remember the exact model, perhaps Prima. It has a plastic headjoint and a pearwood body.
