When Jim was a lad? What was it took with? A camera obscura?

Very nice picture ... I like the sepia tone effect ..and les apprears to be quiet into playing.

Great that you could catch him in action between naps! :)

Aaron ... we did have cameras back then ... actually fairly good ones ... but they weren't as small as we have now. Susan use to have a picture of one like they used to shoot my baby pictures! It was one of the first compacts.

But it was a lot of trouble working with those glass plates and the chemicals.

Adrian,

Thank you for showing us this picture of Les. It is beautiful!

Les,

you sure are a handsome lad, and your bodhran is gorgeous. I wish I could hear you play.

I thought of wording it like that, Les, but I didn't want to come across as being too forward. Seeing that you'd enjoy it, I'll say it: Les, you gorgeous lad, you have a handsome bodhran! ;)

He may be into playing, but with a drum that size, I'd hardly say it's quiet!

Gorgeous picture! Nicely fixed up, Adrian. Not that Les needed much help.

Les, I like that tipper. Is it one of your homemade jobs?

Yes, Connie..it is one I made out of BBQ sticks.glued together in just the centre and moveable elastic bands at the ends to change the tone.nearer the bottom of the sticks you get a more solid sound.move the band up and you get a more brush like sound.great for slower stuff
