Here are some snaps from the 9th anniversary of the international church in Thessalonica.

It is a very musical church. For example, the service was three hours long and the first hour was the opening worship!

This is near the beginning of the service. A few more came later and we had about 20 nationalities by the end.

This is the worship team. They were all Koreans and Filipinos this week apart from Dean from the US playing bass.

This 13 year old Korean boy is easily the best keyboard player our church has. He is a very talented musician and plays electric guitar in the worship group some weeks. Can you tell by the way he plays the drums that he has a black belt in Taekwando?

Some Congolese singing a worship song in French resulted in Africans from other countries to come up and dance.

Image

Our interperter is from Eithiopia and this week translated from English to Greek. Sometimes there are many French speakers at church and so we translate to French.

This is Carlito, the pastor's son, and he is obsessed with drumming and plays a beat on chairs or the wall with anything he can lay his hands on . He is two but can keep a simple rhythm in time on the drums if someone is playing guitar or keyboard. He cannot reach the pedals yet!

Image

Esther is from Korea and at 16 she is the youngest worship leader in the church. This week she just sang and played violin. She is a very good singer.

Image

PWA's Ellah in the kitchen preparing a salad. She does not play her whistle well enough yet to play with the worship team so she plays her tambourine at the back of the church while she dances.

A couple of Filipina girls helping in the kitchen.

One of the Korean families. They lead the Christian work among the Gypsies in north Greece.

I love the photos. Adrian put up a display of over 40 in the church for the people to see next Sunday.

Carlito, the two year old drummer, is amazing. When someone is playing the drums, he will just stand and watch, studying what they're doing. He usually travels with drum sticks so that he can play a rhythm when out. Failing that he will use anything available - knives and forks do well as a substitute.

THANK YOU for these pictures!!!!! I would love this church. I would LOVE it! At our church, we get complaints if we do more than three songs.

I do feel a part of your church, since you all received the Jingle Bells song so enthusiastically. And it was good to see Ellah.

Someday, take along your minidisc player. I yearn to hear live worship in any language.

I love the photos, Adrian. I'm glad you and Susan are back, though,......I missed your posts. And, I have to say, that little Carlito is an absolute doll!

Great pictures but we need the audio. This looks like an interesting church. I must say we are almost as international here. We tend toward Portuguese and Spanish as our two most spoken languages but also have Polish, Russian, Chinese, Korean, and several African languages. It is a lot of fun.

Jesus loves the little children of the world!!!

I was blessed to see that diverse group of believers.

Am thinking that if you asked very nicely .. the young boy (Carlito) would give you lessons on the drums ... he looked as though he could put up with the old ones!!! \:D/
