Here are some pictures of our town yesterday evening. It is fun to take pictures at night.

I like the night shots of your town ... it seems to be the type of town I grew up in ... store front businesses ... and not Wal Marts or big malls. Like the light trails as well. Were these really long exposures ... or did you up the ISO? I could wait many hours for a car to pass by here after 9 pm... ;)

Really enjoyed the night shots, Adrian. More night fotos would be quite welcomed!

I very much liked all of these shots Adrian. There's something very different about a town at night.

Nice shots, Adrian. Do you have a night setting on your camera?

The still lights shine like stars.

Thanks for your encouraging comments.

There are no night setting on my camera so I used manual. The great thing with digital is that you get to see the results immediatly. This means that light meters or tables are no longer needed as you can just guess at the camera settings, take a test shot and then make corrections by looking at the results on the screen.

Fotos like these are easy. You just need a tripod or somewhere stable to sit the camera so you can give the shot a long exposure. To get the star effect use the smallest aperture you have on your camera. I think these pictures averaged about 25 seconds. Give it a go.
