I just finished version 1.00 of some new software.
Electronic Songbook

You may download it here and unzip.

This program allows you to keep a book of chorded songs, create a song list and it will transpose into any key. It remembers your key with the song list.

I've created this for my congregation, but I thought I would share it with others.
I hope to create a remote foot pedal device that will allow the musician to navigate through the selected songs and page down/up in a future version. The songs are stored in a file called SONGBOOK.ESB which is created for the first time after you run the program.

A sample song is included, note that the chord lines all have a < symbol to tell the program what to transpose. It has a built-in editor for adding more songs.
Do backup frequently though, it is a new program.

Now that looks cool. I will have to play around with it.

Daniel, there's already a two button USB footpedal available. They sell for around $50. They can be had in 3 button configurations, also.

BTW, nice program you put together. I checked it out, and it looks like it would do the trick.

I'm still trying to talk my wife into an iPad for me. I have all my song sheets in .PDF and .doc formats. I could load those onto an iPad, then use that on my music stand. No need for a stand light, or a thick notebook with pages falling out.

I've lent music out to other musicians and thus my songbook is falling apart and much is missing.

In anyone interested in possibly interfacing the Electronic Songbook with ABC Notation?
I'd like to see a way of having the ABC notation storeable in ESB file so that it can be called up easily from a song list and with ability to produce staff music for melody instruments as well.

Some revisions made to Electronic Song book

Electronic Songbook - Revised

Enter your song, put a < mark on the end of each line where there are chords, the program will keep songlist and will remember the transposition that you choose.

If you have an early copy with songs on it, don't let it overwrite songbook.esb - that is where the songs are kept.
If anyone wants that source code it's available on request, it is in C - compiles under Pells C compiler.
