Knowing that a lot of people here play Irish traditional music as well as worship music, it occurred to me that some of you may be interested in the program "Siar an Bóthar" ("West Along the Road") on Ireland's TG4 (Irish language TV channel), which is now available on WebTV.

"Siar an Bóthar" is a program based around rare, archived footage of some of the legends of Irish music. The reason I thought of it today is Kelly's interest in airs (there are often great sean nós singers and air players on the program), but I figured that any or all of you might find the program enjoyable. It's narrated in Irish, but subtitles are provided.

To view, go to this link:

From there, click on the "Web TV" button. That will take you to a list of types of programs. Yes, it's in Irish, but don't worry...the menu item you're interested in is third down on the left: "Ceol - Cartlann." Click on that, and you'll see several archived episodes of "Siar an Bóthar" to choose from. It doesn't matter which you start with...they're all good! Then you can just watch the program on your computer, as if you were seeing it on your TV set. And it's free!
