So, friends,

I have made four whistle purchases in my six month whistling hobby, one retail, two my mail, one from a private party. When you offer a whistle for sale, in there some kind of rule of thumb for percentage discounted from your purchase, or length of ownership, or condition of whistle, or what.

Trying to learn about fair market value. All ideas appreciated.

Some whistles will sell for much less than their original cost. Others will sell for many times there original cost. It has nothing to do with how much they are worth. I have no guideline for you because I could never sell one of my lovelies.

There are too many factors. You could tell us what the whistles are and we could tell you what we would sell them or buy them for.

You can check on the Chiff & Fipple and see what the market is for a particular whistle. That would be one of the better gauges of resale value.

Great idea! He almost certainly would have bought and sold one of of whichever whistle you are interested in selling or buying. We kid you not. :D
