Do any of you have a Carey Parks "Every whistle"? Feeling that whoa condition coming on again and just wondering what this whistle is like.

I have one, Keith, and I really like it. The mute ring on it is, for me, its' strongest selling point. I can't adjust to where it literally "whispers" which allows me to play when the mood sometimes strikes me in the wee hours of the weekend mornings when I'm off work. But with the ring fully open the whistle gives a stable, full sound, I find mine to be quite responsive throughout its' full range. Its' constant home is on the end table next to my couch in my living room. Hey, there's not much on TV Sunday mornings after 2 a.m., and not much else to do! :D

I'm waiting til he comes out with an A or Bb. Same thing with Thornton whistles.

I don't own one yet but I was on the tour. It is a very nice whistle the mute ring is a nice feature and could probably be added to almost any whistle. I have not bought one yet but I may in the future. First there is a Burke brass session D that I must have. I also must have a mountain dulcimer. These will probably be purchased on 2 August at the Dublin, Ohio Irish Festival. On 19 July I will be at the Cleveland Irish Festival. No telling what I might buy there.

Like Ron, I was on the tour and liked the whistle quite a lot. It's on my "to buy" list ... the Every whistle and the Ghost. Just haven't yet ... decided to invest in a chromatic box dulcimer first ....

Phil, aka fancypiper, has the Every whistle ... and maybe the Ghost, too. He's had nothing but great things to say about it. :-k Haven't seen Phil around much lately. Hope he's feeling okay.

I guess it's obvious from his site that I have a tabor pipe version of his Ghost Whistle. It's a bit on the loud side. I reckon the Every Whistle, with its adjuster would probably give you a nice range of choices in volume.

Thanks all. I actually ordered one of the walkabout models, plus a C and Eb body.

Aaron, I hadn't looked at the tabor pipe section, but did after you mentioned this. Cool playing, as usual. You've almost persuaded me to check one out. Maybe in a couple years after I've made more progress on the whistle.

I have both the Every Whistle and the Ghost whistle, but I seldom play the Ghost whistle while the Every whistle is always within reach. I even traded my Burke as the Every whistle as it is a bit louder wide open and closed down, it is even more "whispery" than the Clarke Original design in D, now my 3rd favorite whistle to play (Hoover Blacktop on brass Generation Bb tube is my absolute favorite to play).

I am starting to feel some better after a very rough year. Please pray that I continue to improve.

Every whistle owners,, I am wondering, if you have the mute positioned so that it is quiet,,, can you still hit octaves the same as open? I really like the quiet idea, but being a newish whistler , want to keep my practice consistent
