Here in Ohio March roared in with a bang. Our county seat lost power and closed down streets due to high winds simply laying the power poles down in the streets. Roofing metal flew, trees fell, branches decorated all the local roads. High water was another treat to add to the day. I live on a winding gravel road that runs ~ 3 miles along a ridge. At day's end, the far end of the road was slipping badly and the township trustees had to mark it off the school bus route from that end. Our end is in better shape -- although both ends were blocked by downed trees Monday morning.

On the good side, the temps were in the high 60's.

How did March 1st treat your neck of the woods?

February made a pretty spectacular exit but the big blow we were supposed get yesterday fizzled, thankfully.

Winter returns tomorrow ... gotta love it.

I was out of town when the storm came through, but my house was still there.
Amelia got hit with a small tornado, it was strange since it broke phone poles and didn't affect too many buildings.
There was one building that got a side torn off, the person opened the door to a bathroom on a second floor and there was the outside. The first step is a doozey.

We have had a very mild winter here south of Houston, Texas. :sunny: I have seen these mild winters before and my instinct told me it would last through spring. :sunny2: So much so that I put out tomatoe plants in January. Now in this region normaly tomatoes are put out by the almanac is March 7-20. I already have green tomatoes and expect red ones any day now.

it's been generally mild here, as well. Way below normal snow over the winter. A little different from Texas, though; I've only just recently placed tomato seeds in a starting mix, and they're on warming pads in the basement.

Well, we have dandelions blooming, though I really can't take the credit.
