Not a big fan of many TV sports. My brothers like football. Both are irritated with the kneeling during the "Star Spangled Banner".

Now the NFL has suddenly realized that Americans are disgusted enough to affect their income, many of the teams are saying this wasn't in protest of America or the military or veterans. Really? Unless they were all kneeling in prayer, I'm not buying that. How do you kneel in solidarity for BLM, AnitFA, or to protest against President Trump or deep fried Twinkies (or whatever!) when the national anthem is playing and expect people to 'understand' it is not really against America? (Side gripe - How in the world did the NFL get to be partially tax exempt!?)

Not exactly appropriate for PWA, but the Jo Dee Messina song "My Give A Damn's Busted" fits my opinion of the NFL players who kneel during the anthem. Kneel before the cross like Tim Tebow; stand for the "Star Spangled Banner".

Some venting going on here also. A little quirky humor perhaps.

Someone asked me why are they locking arms. Because big macho men will not line up and hold hands. :-'

Yeah, that locking arms thing is just a little freaky --- but so would be the holding hands thing.

Too bad both actions violate the NFL rules on what to do when the anthem is played ....

... quirky is always good. :sunny2:
