How about a thread for some of our favorite Christmas music?

Here is a link to one of my favorite groups - Home Free singing Silent Night

Wish we could embed You Tube ...

I really like the harmonies of Home Free and the old-fashioned feel to Silent Night.

Another favorite by Home Free, but with a more modern feel to the arrangement: Do You Hear What I Hear?

https://youtu.be/wIQQDYaoWpc

The beatboxer, Adam Rupp, did the arrangement for this and gave this explanation:

"On the surface, this arrangement of “Do You Hear What I Hear” sparks the imagination with different musical themes, and brings life to several different scenes or imagery about the birth of Christ. However, a deeper understanding of the song reveals a call for peace in a chaotic violent world under the simple truth preached by Christ: love. Originally written during the Cuban missile crisis, a parallel can be drawn to any time when the world needs a reminder to love not hate. The theme of competing voices is echoed in the execution of the 4 different vocal parts that come to clarity at the 4th verse and unify with the same message in 5 octaves: “Listen to what I say. Pray for peace, people everywhere.” -Adam Rupp.

Little Drummer Boy was great! Question though, what was the instrument the lead singer (maybe) was playing that has a squeeze box (kinda) on the back? A technologically advanced, portable version of the pump organ?

I listened to the Allison Krause/Yo-Yo Ma Wexford Carol just last night and had thought it would be a great choice for this thread. Beautiful!

I invested in chromecast. From my phone and YouTube to my TV the sound is better than any other devise we have. The picture is usually HD and usually commercial free. And best of all I can choose good news.

We ditched DirecTv a couple of years ago - Roku for us though.

YouTube is a great resource - even some of my favorite movies there, full length.

oh yeah ... and lots of Christmas music!

I don't watch TV much (if at all), but you can never have too much Christmas music no matter how you play it.

Judy, I do love Cloverton’s Hallelujah. His voice is so suited to this music, and it’s just beautiful.

Mack, I’m sitting here with an iPad and Chromecast, casting each song on this thread to my tv and commenting. Lovely way to enjoy an evening!

We gave up Dish a couple of years ago.
