Post subject:  Question about Firefox

After reading peoples' views on how much better Firefox is than IE I'm considering switching to it. My question is will it affect my iTunes in any way? Oh, and also, should I download it directly to my computer or to a disc? Remember, please, I'm incredibly 'puter challenged!

I had no issues with Itunes. I'd download it - no reason to have it on a disk.

One last (I think) question about FireFox (still haven't downloaded it... so much to do /play with/etc. so little free time!). Is it intended mainly for Macs or can you use it with any computer? I have an Acer desktop and an Acer laptop.

Larry, I'm running Firefox on my HP laptop with no problems. There are some places (game sites, mainly I've found) that will only work with IE. Firefox has an add-on called IE tab that allows you to still be in Firefox yet use an IE tab.

Thank you, Judy. I believe I'll go ahead and download Firefox today.

I don't think that is available in the Linux version.

BTW, Firefox (or the Seamonkey suite) was the first web browser with tabs IIRC.

BTW, the Opera browser will disguise itsself as IE (in Linux at least. I assume the Microsoft version will too).

Well, that went completely over my head!

Well, I've been running Firefox since this past Sunday and for me it's like greased lightening compared to IE. Now where do I go to get Thunderbird (is that the correct name?) email and should I ???

Do a Goggle search for Mozilla - you'll find a link to Thunderbird there, or directly search for Mozilla Thunderbird, and you'll likely go directly there.

I tried Thunderbird at work, and it didn't have all the utility of Outlook's contact management and calendar options. But it seemed to work OK for box local and internet mail.

If you want an entire suite with lots more options for the browser and e-mail client plus more stuff, search for Seamonkey
