http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsTuHjAyjN8 <--- click here to see the video clip I was up in Austin this last weekend November 8, 2009 for drill with the National Guard. When I was about to drive home I saw a sign by the freeway advertising a Celtic Festival, so I went to check it out. After walking through the vendors and hearing some kinda OK Irish music I was about to leave when I saw Joanie Madden on the stage. Her name wasn't on the program, so I was very surprised to see her there. She was playing with her relatively new band, New York's Pride. She is, in my opinion, one of, if not the, best Irish whistle player on the planet. She is a wonderful lady, and I was very honored to meet her, and even more honored that she was willing to try out my whistles. She said she was very surprised at how nice they were. She tried the copper low E, and said she liked a louder whistle with a wider windway. Then she tried the Ceol Pro middle G and said it was very nice, then she tried the acrylic and brass high D (which she plays in the video). If you can't tell, in the video she says they are "damn good." She told me to feel free to post her comments on my web page, and that she highly recommended my whistles. Sorry about the poor quality of the video and sound, it was a noisy festival, and all I had was my cell phone which cut her off at 30 seconds cause it's a piece of junk.

Nick, I have a question.
I just got one of your Ceol Pro low D whistles for my Birthday and I have been happy with it but the top three notes of the upper register are very difficult to reach clearly, the whistle often jumps to a weird pitch.
I am just wondering if this is common on low whistles and if continued breath control practice will firm those up or if it's a unique case.
Thanks

Try holding down the lowest hole when you hit those hjigher notes. It should help a bit, but yeah, mostly breath control will help you play them easily. I make my whistle easier than most for the high notes, but it still does require a presice amount of air to make em play right.
hope that helps...
