Well, it's been nearly a year since i've read or posted anything on praise whistlers!

Sad to say, after becoming a new whistler and feeding my whistle addiction with over $500 worth of whistles...they have sat in the closet for most of the year!

I did play Be The Center with a Christian Band at a coffee shop, this time last year.

My mom is an organist and I will be playing with her at church on Christmas Eve. I'm sure this is a familiar thread, but since it IS after 1 a.m. and I dont' feel like searching thru yrs. of old posts....

are there whistle arrangements of Christmas carols out there with piano accompaniment?....or flute solos that workable on whistle?

so far I'm just finding basic carols online but nothing arranged or with accompaniment....not sure mom just wants to play out of the hymnal.

I think she'd like something more 'beefy' like a real arrangment.

I appreciate your ideas.

I'm also a clarinetist/saxophonist. I'm always looking for good, advanced solo arrangements for Christmas and church. Since many of you play in church groups...where do you get your music?

Well hello there Kim!

I'm one of those improvisation people so I can't help you much, but it's nice to "see" you again.

Hi Kim -

you might try this site:

http://www.sibeliusmusic.com/

There's a bunch fo stuff available - some free and it looks like you have some leeway with arrangements. You can also transpose the songs I think.

Nice to see you on the forums!

Blessings

jrc

Hi Kim ... welcome back!

There is a website called Sibelius Music that allows you to put piano & solo instrument in a search for arrangements. Some of the pieces are priced, some are free. There are a couple of possible problems with the website. You have to use Internet Explorer and the Sibelius Scorch plug-in (free) to print the music. The up side is that there are some very nice arrangements available for free.

(But I will confess now that my computer kept messing up and I didn't get to look at any Christmas pieces for piano & flute in particular.)

 ... and while the computer was playing games jrc beat me to the punch!
