Before the last crash, some of us were beginning to learn some session tunes using free online resources. I thought that I'd re-post those links for anyone who did not save them:

1) "Virtual Session"
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/r2music/folk/sessions/
You can print out the music and play along with the recorded session.

2) "Blarney Stone Pub" tunebook.
http://members.cox.net/eskin/tunebook.html
This is a4.0Mb file ... will take a little while to download (not good for dial-up).

3) "John Walsh" tunebook.

It seems that the Murphy Roche Slow Session link no longer exists. They're now selling session cd's and recommending the use of slow-down software. Their site is http://www.murphyroche.com in case anyone is interested.

The ABC Tune Finder:
http://trillian.mit.edu/~jc/music/abc/findtune.html
Search for a tune, and get a midi, abc, or an image of the sheet music, etc.

I found a link to a couple of session tunebooks in North Carolina, thanks to a link fearfaoin of C&F used to have as a signature ...

"NC Pinecone Session"
http://ncfolk.net/sessions/

The tunes have a nice format for printing out ... but no midis attached to this link.

Tunes at Ceolas is the best reference I have found.
