It's a work in progress. I plan to break up the verses with a chorus or something. First project with GarageBand on the iPad.

That sounds great Connie . We want more details about how you created it.

Ron, thanks. I started it as an exercise in adapting chord progressions. The chord progression there is a simple take on 12 Bar Blues, a common blues progression. There's more to explain, but that's a good place to start.

In Garageband you can turn "smart instruments" on and off. It's a bit chintzy, but I tried smart instruments. Your instrument plays while you just change the chords. The accompaniment was started mostly with smart instruments, but the melody and harmony were done by hand. About mid-project Garageband added midi editing, so I went back and moved some notes, deleted others, and added still more. So it is a little bit more work than "Band in a Box."

I started this as the above-mentioned exercise, and also because I thought Garageband might be an easy way to get my music students started with audio editing. It really is, and the kids loved working with it. (We got a grant for iPads at school.)

I'm still working on things. This is just a build of verses. I'd like to add a repeating, building chorus, and maybe a bridge might go in--we'll see. Later on -- lyrics. And it does need whistle, I think. This is pretty exciting for me, as it is my first break-out from arranging to composing.
