Many years ago, Parker Palmer, a practicing Friend (Quaker) involved in spirituality/religion and education, conducted a seminar I was involved in. He taught us a hymn there (don't know if it was specifically Quaker or not). The words go something like this:

Joy [peace, love, truth, etc] if flowing like a river,
Flowing out through you and me,
Spreading out into the desert
Setting all the captives free.

You repeat it using the different noun at the beginning. Simple and beautiful.

Any of you know this? Is it in any of your hymnals? Any help would be appreciated.

By the way, Palmer's work is interesting. I recommend his "To Know as We are Known."

Cheers.

I found this:
http://www.missionstclare.com/music/gen ... peace.html (can click for a midi as well). (The site can be a bit erratic/slow.)

Still looking to see if this is in an available hymnal or if any of you've played or sung this before.
