Decided to duplicate my C&F post here:

Now available at your neighborhood discount store is this inexpensive whistle rack:

Similar models can be found at dollar stores with a criss-cross pattern on the sides, suitable for holding larger whistles.
I can't figure out why the discount stores would sell these whistle racks but not sell whistles!

Displayed are a Village Smithy, two of my own creations, and six wood whistles currently on a private tour made by Tommy Dion. (Tommy is currently best known for his tweaking of whistles.)

Nice looking rack ... and the whistles look good but don't .. I say .. don't get attached to the 6 Tommy whistles ... I am next on the list and and I want to try them out!!!! I have a not so nice rack that can hold a few more :D

Tommy has been known for his tweaking but to look at those whistle .. if they play like they look ... he may be known in the future for making them as well. Wonder if he will give free tweaks to his whistles? Will they need tweaking .... are they untweakable ? These questions and others will be answered by Tommy as soon as he comes back from finding Micheal.
:D

What a great idea!

#-o Why didn't I think of that!? Wonder what the store clerks will say if I take a few whistles along for trial 'fittings'? :D

Great idea, Phil! Cool pic, too. What part of the dollar store do I look in? Is that a toothbrush holder or what?

Nice whistles in the pic, too. Tommy makes awesome whistles.

That is a very clever whistle rack Phil. Now we are all going to go nuts  trying to find a dollar store with them for sale.

I saw a neat thread spool rack at Hobby Lobby the other day. It was tiered
with four rows of upright dowels that would hold lots of the smaller whistles. They were very proud of it too. ;)

Mutepointe gets the award for coming up with the true purpose of the whistle rack! It's a CD holder.
They are at Walmart.
