That is some NICE tone, Kristos! I like the effects, too. What settings did you use?

We have another post on this one from Keith (khl):

"I've finally stopped delaying and am sending my version of Awake, Awake to Love and Work. I play this three times through at a different tempo for each verse."

All I did is record my recorder ( :-s ) with a $20 mike, remove the noise with Audacity noise removal on second-to-minimum (or was it minimum?), then added reveb that's built into the audio drivers or something by recording the audio output. It added a few pops and all, I was able to edit out some of it- the really bad ones.
But it's a really nice reverb. I like it better than all the reverb plugin's I've tried with Audacity. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it has good presets!

Keith, your music is always a pleasure to listen to. The different tempos are a nifty arrangement. What whistle are you playing?

It's a Low G whistle, though, to be honest, I can't say which one. I wanted to see what the different tempos would sound like, so I played all three in succession, without stopping the recording. The fast tempo is a little too rushed for me, that is, it moves disjointedly and might have been helped with a metronome--same speed, just cleaner and crisper.

There are some great clips with this piece. My favorites, however, have to be the medieval sounding ones.

The speed up was cool, Keith!

This is a "keep this on the first page bump" so that this tune doesn't get relegated to page two. It's a fine one with lots of good recordings, but maybe someone wants to give it a shot.

Actually what I think we may do is make a sticky thred that has links to all the older song threads. Make them easier to find as well when someone new comes in if they want to record the older tunes.

Great idea.

Also, do I remember reading that we can also inform you (and not only Connie) when we have a song ready to post?

There is already a tune compilation page, but it's link is on the opening page of the forum instead of "in" TPE. It's not the actual threads, just links to the tunes posted.

Actually, that brings up something I was going to mention. I'll be gone from this Sunday through Wednesday August 8th. Please PM Shadoes with any tunes you put in the upload folder.

Shadoes will also post a new tune Wednesday.

There are some places along my journey where I can log onto PWA, but my laptop won't allow me to access ftp folders from open wifi, so it'll be up to Shadoes to keep the summer tunes (and contest) going for the next week and a half.
