Hi everybody. I'm in Tennessee, enjoying the scenery. Actually, it's rained heavily as I was travelling through every pretty gap and pass. Hopefully I'll get some good pictures tomorrow. I'd like to go up Clinch mountain and get Tennessee hill pictures for you. I'm in the neighborhood where I grew up.

In the meantime, since I don't have any vacation pics yet, here's some other stuff.

My dogs, who are too old to travel with us.

Here are a few pics from a recent boating trip.

See all the little points of light just under the leaves? Those are little midges tormenting the tree and anybody who walked under it.
Image

I swiped this idea from Adrian...get your camera down close to the water so you can get that oily water look. Now if I could just straighten out the horizon.... :?

Okay, the water line's a little straighter, here. My good photo editing software is back home.

And, hey...as long as I'm posting random stuff for no good reason, some of you may remember my day trip to the Mississippi River a few weeks ago. Remember the "bridge to nowhere?" Here's a picture I took that somehow didn't get uploaded. The view inside the bridge, as you see, was way more interesting than the mediocre view outside. My husband and one child:

Well, that's all. I just thought I'd check in and say "hello." I'll maybe check in tomorrow, then it's off to the internet wilderness, where I'll be going offline for a week or so.

Take care.

(Edited to add just one more picture.)

So, where's the water picture taken? I've seen the Atlantic a few times, and I live in the middle of the Pacific. I don't think it's either of them. :-k

Oh, good grief, no! It's a lake in landlocked central Illinois. It's from a goodbye outing for the teachers who are leaving.

Hey Connie,

To quote Adrian ... don't get your camera wet .. they don't swim well either! :D

Glad you checked in ... and hope the weather clears ...you are in a beautiful part of the world... shame to miss the pictures because of the weather.

Your dogs look like I feel tonight .. ready to get to bed ... and old!

Blessings ..... to you and yours

Nice pix. What's wrong with the water horizons?

Glad you are having a super time. I hope you took lots of memory cards.

What lovely pictures. I agree with Adrian, I can't see anything wrong with the horizons. Looking forward to seeing your holiday pics.

Adrian edited my water pics for me. Thanks, Bro.

This water pic is a bit better.

That's from the top of Clinch Mountain. Clinch is an amazingly ridge (one mountain and it goes on for 150 mikes (240 km).

The home I grew up in is just over that first mountain there. Also taken from Clinch today.

The home where I grew up (took this picture last Christmas, thus no leaves):

I've got a lot of pictures and no high-speed internet at home. I'll get out in the next five hours or so and post them from school. :D

I went some places where it's not even a decent sport. You just show up with a camera and you're bound to get good pictures. 8)
