I've enjoyed listening to the clips from Adrian, Ren, and Blackhawk. Nice playing and each in a distinct style from the others.

Adrian: I like the way you've worked the many articulations or ornamentations in this. I had to laugh at your comment about my ornamentations because I hear you play and I say. "There's someone who's got real control over the whistle." For my part, I really don't know what I'm doing with many of the cuts or taps or rolls, etc., and I just put them in where I feel like they ought to go. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I was actually thinking the last few days that I've got to get into the habit of simply landing on the last note of a phrase without double playing or articulating it as I do too often. Over-doing it or playing it in a less meaningful way.

Ren: Your clip is really enjoyable -- Ozarks and all. Almost thou persuadest me to give up whistle for one of those stringy things.

Blackhawk: Judy likes one version best, Shadoes the other. I'm reminded of these lines from "O Brother, Where Art Thou"

Pete: Wait a minute. Who elected you leader of this outfit?

Ulysses: Well Pete, I figured it should be the one with the capacity for abstract thought. But if that ain't the consensus view, then h***, let's put it to a vote.

Pete: Suits me. I'm voting for yours truly.

Ulysses: Well I'm voting for yours truly too.

(Both look at Delmar.)

Delmar: Okay... I'm with you fellas.

O:)

Blackhawk

Definitly the Humphrey version. Played very well and the whistle has a super tone.

This has been really interesting to me. Thank you all for your kind words. I originally only wanted Connie to post one or the other, but now I'm glad she posted both. I have learned from this.

And Ren, I really enjoyed your strings. I'm glad we're not limited to whistles here on PWA. I'm glad you think outside this box. :)

Thanks, BH! 8)
