The Christmas album has been absolutely wonderful this year. Thanks everyone for the great participation.

Now, if you have a spare minute during your busy Christmas season, I hope you'll take some time to pull out your microphone one more time and record us a greeting. Doesn't have to be much. Just maybe 10 seconds of you telling your PWA friends merry Christmas or something. We'd all enjoy that. I've put an audio Christmas card folder in the upload folder. It's called "Christmas Greetings 2007." Once you've recorded your greeting, just drag and drop to the folder.

Let us hear from you!

Blessings,
-Connie

This is awesome! Now I'll get to hear what everyone's voices sound like! As a blind person, that's the main way I identify people. That's the only disadvantage of talking online in this form.

OK, mine's in there. I didn't see any others. Come on folks! :)

It's early here on the Left Coast, and I'm sitting here drinking coffee at the computer. So now I have an excuse to use this previously unused smiley. :coffee:

O my gosh. I just listened to you, Blackhawk. That was so cool to hear your voice. I think this is a great idea, and I will add mine as soon as I can.

Connie,

I just listened to the greetings on the cool little control thing, you posted. Everyone's sounds o.k., but mine sounds like I'm talking about 50 times the normal speed. How does it sound to you?

Lyn, you sound normal to me. I could slooooowwww you down in Audacity if you like. ;)

The 'cool little control thing' is a Christmas gift from Kitty. I confess to playing with the mp3 player till 2am Christmas morning!

Okay, there is a problem between LynD and the mp3 player. It sounds fine if you download and play the mp3 from the folder, but the play wants to fast forward it. Very odd.

For now, I'm going to link to LynD without the player.

It's the sample rate set in Audacity. It needs to be set to 44100 Hz when recording.

Connie,

That's exactly what I found.........fine from the mp3 folder, but high speed  from the player.

Adrian,

Thank you. For now, Connie linked me to the folder. Kitty says the setting has to be changed on Audacity...just what you said. I dont' know if Connie is going to change it. You can ask her if she want to do it or have you do it. Whoever does it........thank you.

Lyn

Lyn - and everyone - be sure to change your settings in Audacity before recording anything else so that your file will be compatible with the forum's mp3 player. (In fact, you may want to record a test and send it in so that we can make sure this is actually the problem.)

In Audacity, go to Edit Preferences, click the Quality tab, and set the Default Sample Rate to 44100.
