When I got to school this morning, this sight awaited me.

A detail:

And here it is in context:

These double doors are in one of my two rooms. I stand in front of the doors to teach some of my classes. Not this morning, though. The ice you see was on the INSIDE!!!! Here I've been looking for a good subject to photograph, and God kindly supplied me with a lovely stained glass.

I went out to photograph it from the outside, and was surprised to find it acted as a mirror.

Actually, I got both. (Until this year I taught with a small space heater.) But, you see, the temperature dipped below zero last night with high winds. Add that to a problem you can see in this pic:
Image

See the daylight between the two doors? That's actually DAYLIGHT. The weather stripping needs to be replaced. No amount of heat can compensate for that when the temperature is below zero.

The heat really helped, though. I used to keep my heavy coat on all day when temps stayed this cold. Today it was only uncomfortable right around the door.

I think you need some weather stripping on your door. It should only cost a few dollars and it would make a big difference. But it does make for some really neat pictures.

Neat pictures .. is there a chance you are going to turn loose of that camera any time in the future??????

Sure. Teachers are always wandering in to grab it. Small price to pay for the right to use it almost anytime.

The picture taken from the outside looking in is surreal.
