Micheal is the shy one with all of the hair .... I have no idea what he really looks like under all of that ... but will take his word when he says he looks better with it .. than without it!

Robin is the one sitting in the SUV... he will be 63 in a couple of months and can still play things that I can only dream of. One of the nicest performers I have ever visited with, a true gentleman like Chet Atkins was. Fun to visit with the pros and talk about music, always inspirational.

Hello everyone!

I hope you had a good start of 2008. I was very busy and my employer would not let me take a day off for Christmas or New Year as they had guests so I could not write a greeting to you.

I still play my flute in my room during my siesta hour. I thank God for my Bible and my flute. They are my friends.

This picture is of me in the summer.

I'm glad you posted again, Ellah. I'm sorry you didn't get any holiday time off. But I'm glad you find comfort in your Bible and flute. God be with you!

Hi Ellah!

I remember taking that picture!

Sorry that you had a very busy Christmas and new year. It's good that you had time to play your flute and read your Bible though. I'm glad they are your friends.

Keep playing!

Hey man! I do remember you - I just posted on another thread then saw this.

Love the horses - that must be amazing to be able to ride like that when ever you like.

Don't be so long gone this time!

blessings brother

i hope not to be gone so long:( i forgot about this site for a bit but still enjoy the whistle. Thank you for your response brother. Just so you know, I remember you, I still listen to your version of Donnybrook Fair quite often. That cd is always in my truck. It is a nice relaxation piece to listen on my way to the arena with my horses to team penn. Thank you for the wonderful blessing.

I like the new look -- rugged. I've been trying to think all day who you remind me of and suddenly, I remembered! It wouldn't take much doing to convince me that you and Kevin Kline (Paden in this film) are cousins, brothers, or one and the same:

Good to hear from you.

Why has this thread been "pruned" to only the pictures and not the banter? Have we been censored? :-#

Makes for very 'sterile' reading, IMO. :(

No, not censored. Just "tidied."

The idea was proposed to the moderators to prune out the banter after a certain amount of time had passed, because we are a very chatty bunch (which is part of the board's charm) so a great many banter posts accumulate after each photo post. This makes it very difficult, practically speaking, to browse the photos and get a look at everyone.

For instance, when the "tidying up" was done, this thread went from about 7 pages down to 3. Now think of it from the perspective of a new person trying to familiarize themselves with all of us. Browsing through 7 pages of posts can be quite daunting. True, they would get to know us by our banter too, but that exists in practically every other thread as well. This really is primarily a photo gallery thread, and the moderators thought it a good idea to pare it down every once in a while to just leave the photos.

However, if the pruning here and in other threads is really bothering PWA members, I should think a discussion on the pros and cons would bring us all to consensus, one way or the other. Nobody is insistent about it; we're just doing what we think is best, but we can be mistaken. Or at least, all the other moderators besides me can be mistaken. ;) :angel2:

Kitty, the "pruning" doesn't bother me -- I just find myself posting much less on any of the threads, particularly photo threads, because of it. Why bother making a comment on a picture, or anything, if it might, or most likely will, be "pruned" for tidiness in the future? :-s

Interesting to find that the post in which I had a picture has also been tidied up because it was missing the picture link for a few days .... too many days apparently. :-k

IMO 'The many faces of PWA' thread was not as useful as it had once been. It was a chore to wade through pages to look for scattered pictures of the family. I agree with Kitty that it was good to tidy it up.

Judy, the good news is that your photo threads are complete with banter in the Foto archive. Very nice pictures they are too. =D>

:D Adrian, it isn't the threads of photos I've taken that is MIA. (I do thank you for the compliments, though.) It's the post in this thread that had a picture of me that is MIA .... all for the best, I think! 8)

Personally, I enjoy the banter -- think it's an integral part of PWA, no matter which thread it's in. But this is a decision for "The Team" to make, not me.

It was "tidied" up in the spring cleaning .... 8)

The picture link had messed up, so I popped a smiley face in it's place until I could find time to fix it. Planned to upload a different picture. Things got busy here for many reasons, I forgot to fix it. Now it's gone.

Works for me!

Upload the new picture please!

I moved your picture to this thread a few weeks ago as it was fading away on a distant page and thought that it would be better here than in the photo archive. When I saw that the picture was replaced with a smiley I assumed the picture was deleted and carried on with the tidy up task I had been given.

It will be easy for you to replace a picture and this time you can put it straight into this thread. Sorry for any inconvenience.

:-k Hmmmm .... I think I'll leave it with my picture "tidied" for the moment -- just as all these posts soon will be gone. Not enough time right now to fix things. :P

The first fuzzy-faced guy is my husband, Dave! He is learning to play the banjo, plays the bass, and WONDERFUL piano, no whistles, though! The other fuzzy-faces cutie is our dog, Stone- the only musical talent he has is to howl, rather unmelodiously when we play the harmonica.
