Ren ... just realized that I hadn't commented on yours .. I like them ... never could get the Dulc.... to sound anything like your entries. Think I am just a slow going whistle person (trying to stay politically correct here!)

Aaron, that looks like a mini-hammered dulcimer ... cool! I envy your coordination at playing 2 instruments at the same time .... and doing it well! Frankly, it's mind-boggling ... can't imagine even trying it myself.

Enjoyed all the styles, although drones usually give me a headache. (Not a noter player here ... and bagpipes get annoying, too ... )

I'm not crazy about drones either.

I usually feel the same way, but I've found that a droning fifth is less irritating than a droning root note. Probably (music theorists take note) because it doesn't create any dissonant combinations with any of the scale tones.

 :-s

Ren........can you give me an example of how to do this?

Very nice playing. I especially like the different renditions and you telling us how each one is played.

I've enjoyed all these versions. It always amazes me how many different interpretations we come up with here.

Ah Darvis ... nice job ... but if my memory serves .. wasn't it you who said to record two verses ... I was just getting warmed up and you ended. I could have listened to another verse as I liked the first! =D> =D>

You make a good point. I was (kinda, sorta) keeping beat (such as it is) by playing with headphones on, listening to a CD I have with the song on it, and playing along. And there is such a long interlude between verses that I couldn't just sit there silently all that time, then start playing again when they did. I'd have been way off beat, so I just went through it once. I could go back and repeat that one verse using Audacity, I suppose. It might be worth it, as it IS very short.
