You don't scare away my monsters
But You're with me chasing them
You don't just take away my fears
But You help me facing them

You don't fight for me my battle
But You're with me till i've won
You don't destroy my enemies
But You protect me till they're gone

This is the way a son or daughter goes
To get to know their Father
This is the way we learn the most
The way that takes us further

You don't just take me to the finish
But You help me run the race
You don't sent me notes from heaven
But You meet me face to Face

You don't tell me left or right
But You help me make the choice
When i put my trust in You
I will hear Your gentle voice

This is the way a son or daughter goes
To get to know their Father
This is the way we learn the most
The way that takes us further

Excellent, Scarlet.

Thank you for freely sharing your gift. :)

Two of my favorite poets are King David and Scarlet. They both bless me to bits.

The Scarlet we've learned to know through rhyme
And to appreciate more with each time
You move your pen across the page
To free emotions from the cage
We hold them in
Knowing not how to begin
To bid them flee and soar aloft
As you do so well so freely and so oft'.
May you ever find in what life poses
Time to stop and smell the roses!
Let us pause and raise our glass
To that sweet poetic lass.
Dear Scarlet, perfector of the po'm
In our heart you have a home!

You poetic types are such a blessing!

Ok, and now, how about a "poetry" section on this forum? And then a "chocolate lovers" one, and......

This brought tears to my eyes as I remember my earthly dad and my Fater in heaven.

It would kind of be nice to have a poetry section but then I like it when I'm surprised by a poem when I hit on a new thread title occasionally.

Chocolate restricted to only one section NO WAY! Chocolate should find it's way onto EVERY section of PWA. ;)

Well, if we're taking votes on this then I agree. :) I like having the poetry sprinkled in amidst all the regular fellowship.

Adrian, if you want to emphasize the point you can just use some exclamation marks, rather than post it twice! And it seems you have some poetry in yourself!!!

Chocolate and poetry together...what a combination!

for me Scarlet the theme running through your poem is that there has to be a commitment from us....we don't just have to leave it all to God....we have, as scripture says to be 'doers of the Word ' and not just hearers...hope that makes sense but thats in it for me....lovely..keep it up........I also prefer to come across poems on the general site.....blessings Les.

Oh, I agree this is part of the message, and it's true. But to me, the poem also shows that God is interested in more than just getting things "right" or "finished" in our lives. His heart is so much to walk through everything with us. The "togetherness" of us and Him is the desire.
