Here it is, in the keys of D and G.

Note (no pun intended) that in the G version, I moved that troublesome low B note up to an E to make it more accessible to a D whistle.

Let's hear your contributions!

Cheers,
Jim

Ooooo! A good one. I just pulled a random whistle out of the bag for fun, and it turned out to be the mideast scale. "June chune" is very cool on that one. I'll work it up and post it. 8)

Okay .... I'll go first on this one ....

My Savior's Love

This is a test of a few things -- new laptop, new version of Audacity (but still the stable, not the new beta), a new microphone (Blue Snowball) and to see if I'd forgotten how to record for TPE. Been a while. Didn't practice much before recording because .... well .... I get impatience when playing with new toys. 8-[

Question ... is this tune used for another song? The words are new to me, yet the tune seems so familiar.

Judy, this is beautiful. I think it needs to be in my devotional background collection. :D =D>

I love it! 8)

What tuning did you use? DGd?

Cheers,
Jim

Thanks, Connie & Ren. :)

Tuning was the ever popular DAd. Wish I had thought of using DGd, Jim. I've been playing a couple of tunes by Larry Conger in that tuning and love it.

The great thing about the dulcimer, as opposed to the whistle, is the low notes are there. 8)

Super Judy, that mic and laptop are a good combination. I can see a new car cd coming on.

Thanks, Ron. I am really pleased with way they worked together. Major plus --the new laptop automatically made the Snowball mike the default mike and Audacity recognized it, which never happened on the Vista laptop. It's a shock when things work right the first time. ;)

BTW, if you want the tab for this, I can email it.

Here's my own contribution:

(Anyone know where I got the intro/bridge/outro?) ;)

Cheers,
Jim

6.5MB?! Gee whiz, Ren, do you know how long that takes to download on dial-up? Over 4 hours to finally (in 4 tries) get the whole thing.

.... and worth every minute. 8)

Hard to miss where ya got the into/bridge/outro ... plus you tell all on the MacJam's page. ;)

One thing I cannot do, and envy you for, is figuring out & blending so well the intro/bridge/outro stuff.

Thanks.

I have to remember that MacJams has a tendency to inflate my uploads to about 1 1/2 times their original size, and it was pretty big to start with. Maybe what I should do is just put it on a regular file-sharing site and include both a hi-fi and a lo-fi version.

Of course, calling it the "Procol Harum Mix" would have been a dead giveaway even before you listened to it.

What happened is that I was thinking about how to do this tune, and WSOP came on the radio.

Cheers,
Jim

Ok Jim you are added to the new car cd, very nice.

I would love to have the tab Judy. It will take me 2 years to learn it. BTW I hate to tell you this but on my verizon FIOS I downloaded Jim's tune in 3 seconds.

I'll work up a cleaner version of the tab I used and email it, Ron. (Red ink all over the top looks messy. ;) )

PPFFFTTT! :P

 Some day, Ron, my DSL will come in. One of the rare penalties of country living, in a very poor county. We can't afford to bribe the politicians who goose the utility companies quite as substantially as city slickers. ;)

(about an hour later)

Hmmmmmm ... Ron? Does one of your dulcimers have the 1+ fret? I may have to change a few chords(or maybe the key?) if not.

I do not have a 1+ fret. I am kind of a basic guy. Don't go to a lot of trouble. Like I said it will take me 2 years to learn it.
