We were just off the path of totality, but it was still pretty cool!

How was it where you were?

We could see part :sunny: of it here in Texas. I watched through my welding shield. Also could feel a slight tempature drop. After it passed became very hot again in the 90s.

This area had about a 91% eclipse, not bad. Looks like your nifty shot shows about the same %, Connie. My best friend watched her thermometer go from 90 to 79 then back to the 90's. No pictures from me but the link below shows how a school in Russell, KY viewed the eclipse. Russell is about 26 miles south of my house.

We had a similar percentage like your pic - about 85-90% I guess. We were in Lynchburg VA, my daughter works at a children's museum and was able to get a pair of the glasses. Really cool to see, though - remember the last one, I used a telescope with a projector that showed the sun on a screen that hung below the eyepiece. The glasses we much better.

We had about 98% in Portland and about 98 million folks coming into town to watch it....actually they flew in here over the weekend and then traveled about an hour or so south to get to total eclipse viewing areas.

We stayed in town and just went over to our daughters house. She made waffles and we sat out in their front driveway and watched. It was super!

So apparently we have seven years until the next one. I believe chocolate waffles will probably play heavily into that event.

Chocolate should play into every event. Hot fudge sundae sounds good.

In 7 years we may need to meet here in Ohio for waffles & chocolate. I know Cincinnati is supposed to be on the edge of the 'total eclipse' path. Runs north to just west of Columbus & Cleveland is center in the path (why would it want to go to Cleveland??).

:-k Think Daniel lives just above Cincinnati. Should we tell him we're coming to visit? 8)

I like Peter Hollens, an a cappella singer. He has a new video out, linked below. Like the song and love that they left in some of the goofs and glitches. This fits our eclipse thread well.

How NOT to shoot a music video during a total eclipse
