All good for us ... slight flooding in the parking area, everyone's doing well, thanks!

Well ya know Texas is a big area.
In Houston and some other places the flood water has not gone down yet. There are thousands of people with out. Some places they will not let owners back in because the sewers are not working.
The most damaged homes in our rural town Santa Fe, Texas pop. 12000 was on the south side of the main road through Hwy 6. Most of the houses on Bunde st. had high water in their house. Our house at 13703 Bunde st. https://www.google.com/maps/place/13703 ... 95.1117676

That Google picture looks to be about five years ago.
We had water in the garage made a smelly mess but is clean now. And the washer and dryer worked after I dried them. Had a refrigerator that was old and quit but no great loss with a good one in the kitchen. The city said they were going to pick up water damaged appliances but refrigerators had to have a tag saying a certified person removed the coolent. I went to a recycle center very close by and asked if they are accepting refrigerators/freezers. They said yes but to remove the food. I went back home got my lawn tractor and started dragging all the appliances on Bunde st. to my front yard where I backed my pick up into the ditch putting the tail gate level with the lawn. (country boy loading dock) LOL
Made five trips with wash machines, dryers, freezers, stoves & fridges. Made $94.50 in four hours. We also have a house rented to our Son and his family with only water in the garage. Neihbors on both sides upset that their house had water. Many years ago when Betty and I were house hunting we always went during a rain storm.

The weather is very nice now in the low eightys with a nice breeze. :sunny2:
At sundown the temp drops down in the sixtys. Good sleeping weather. :sleepy:

Sounds like Santa Fe is only a little larger than our county seat, Ironton - population ~ 11,000. It is a city that was built right on the flood plains of the Ohio River. A major flood in 1937 caused the building of flood walls around the largest part of the town. Works well for those inside the wall. :-'

Maybe your neighbors need to start their own "moats"? From the Google map, it looks like a nice area, if you have to live in a city. (Can't help it - I love our hills and fewer neighbors! ;) )
