Re: New Whistle

Re: Song 33 - O How I Love Jesus

Nice Aaron .... but am thinking your GGM and I may have a lot in common. I have always heard it played more upbeat ... and jig time. Yeah, the town is 7 miles from Texas. Nice looking and sounding whistle, Aaron. What make is it? I bought it from JessieK, and all she said, with regards to its origi...

Like you, Aaron, I'm only familiar with it in a slow tempo. Connie's mp3 was a first up-tempo for me.

Aaron, you get such a sweet sound from that ocarina. You make it sing! =D>

Re: My Beginner Music

 Sounding good, Megan. As Darvis said, it usually takes some time to get as good as you sound on a low D. I can't wait to hear you once you've been playing it for a while! I've forgotten, though, what low D do you have?

Bravo, Aaron, very well done!!! =D> That has long been one of my all=time favorites. What was that playing accompaniment? Maybe it's my hearing (not what it used to be!) but it reminded me of a calliope.

I have a question about ocarinas. What is their volume like compared to say a D whistle?

Re: Every Whistle anyone?

I have one, Keith, and I really like it. The mute ring on it is, for me, its' strongest selling point. I can't adjust to where it literally "whispers" which allows me to play when the mood sometimes strikes me in the wee hours of the weekend mornings when I'm off work. But with the ring fully open ...

Re: Whistlin' Rant

I like the original ... haven't listened to the dry take. I really like when people just play ... no music, just play. Very nicely done, and the reverb doesn't bother me ... it's kinda cool on this sort of thing, IMO. Nice job! The reverb was a big part of the piece's appeal for me, as well. Of cou...
