Memorial Day

I borrowed the image from the page of a favorite political cartoonist/columnist, his link below.

To those who served, we thank you.
To those who paid the ultimate price, we remember.

.... and one small bit of a grump: Memorial Day, to me, will always be May 30th and not whatever Monday pops up to add to the holiday weekend. "Holiday" is also a misnomer for a day of remembrance. (Rant over)

Thank you, Sir Tommy!

I gotta admit every time the words 'first weekend of summer' and 'huge cookout to celebrate' hit my ears, my temper goes to almost 'blastoff'. Summer starts 6/21/19 ... this is not summer. Have fun at the cookout, but - please! - take a moment to remember what the day is really for.

Hmmmm .... guess the rant wasn't completely over yet... :-k 8-[

:salute:
